Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) by definition is the science in which procedures derived from the principles of behavior are systematically applied to improve socially significant behavior to a meaningful degree and to demonstrate experimentally that the procedures employed were responsible for the improvement in behavior. Research has documented that ABA is an effective method for teaching and increasing a wide variety of valuable skills and reducing problem behavior for individuals with autism and related disorders.

Behavior Intervention Services is committed to providing quality ABA services to help improve the lives of individuals with Autism and other related disorders and their families. The systematic method for assessment and intervention allows BIS staff to identify “why” a child engages in maladaptive behaviors and develop the most successful strategies to alleviate these behaviors while at the same time teaching new and age appropriate skills. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts and professionally trianed ABA Implementers work with the individual in a setting choosen by the family to insure that existing and newly aquired skills are able to be generalized across all enviroments. Parents and other professional can also be trained on how to utilize these ABA principles so that the individual can be successful across all environments and individuals in their life.
